The Multiphase Visualization and Analysis Laboratory (MFVAL) investigate the heat transfer and fluid dynamics associated with flow boiling. Flow boiling occurs when a saturated fluid moves through a channel with heated walls. The research performed in the MFVAL aims to identify the dominant physical mechanisms within two-phase systems, and mathematically model the phenomena using a physics-based modeling approach.
